Abstract


The Normandy bridge, cable-stayed structure with 856 m main span, is one of the world's largest civil works under construction. The author describes in this paper the entire projrct as a whole, detailing also some design features, in particular those related with post-tensioning and cable stays. The description reflects the present status of the works as well as the various solutions adopted to solve the problems arisen by the size of this project.
