Strategies for cement manufacture using construction and demolition waste

Abstract

This article deals with the technical and environmental feasibility concerning the use of the construction and demolition wastes (C&DW), which is one of the most important waste stream, as alternative raw meal in cement manufacturing. Thus, it should be possible to avoid the yearly disposal of thousands of tons of this waste, complying with the recent environmental policies concerning the environmental preservation by the use of alternative materials.
